His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada appeared in 1896 in Calcutta, India. In July of 1966, he established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and kick-started the Hare Krishna movement. Within a short span of twelve years, the Society grew to a worldwide confederation of almost one hundred ashramas, Vedic gurukuls (schools), temples, institutes and farm communities.
Systematic and regular reading of Srila Prabhupada’s books will help the reader clearly understand the philosophy of Krishna consciousness and thus develop faith and conviction.
